By picking one thing you are closing the door to a dozen other options you had. We just lack the knowledge or imagination to even think of them. There are usually dozens of other options. A 25 year old without any responsibilities has much more room to move than a 46 year old single mother. The severity of these risks will depend on your personal circumstances.
